Wellness City Challenge, in partnership with the City of Dublin and the Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association, is hosting the Alameda County Mayors' Healthy Cook-Off Challenge at the Dublin Farmers' Market. Six city representatives from Alameda County will be bringing a chef from their area to compete "Iron Chef"-style for the grand prize. Local judges will choose the favorite dish, based on taste, presentation, and creativity. Representing their cities are:
Albany Mayor Peggy Thomsen
Dublin Mayor Tim Sbranti
Fremont Mayor Bill Harrison
Hayward Mayor Pro Tem Mark Salinas
Livermore Mayor John Marchand
Pleasanton Mayor Jerry Thorne
The winning Chef will receive a plaque for his/her restaurant, while the winning Mayor will receive a perpetual trophy. The winning team will also be invited to compete against the winners of the Contra Costa County Mayor's Healthy Cook-Off Challenge, to be held at Mt. Diablo High School this fall.
