Half Price Books Encourages Dublin Community to Donate Children’s Books to Local Book Drive

Half Price Books will collect book for Half Pint Library through March 31.

Half Price Books, the nation’s largest family-owned new and used bookstore chain, is currently holding its 15th annual Half Pint Library Book Drive which will benefit local children. Now through March 31, Half Price Books stores will serve as drop-off sites to collect new and used children’s books. Half Price Books will match each book donated during the drive.

Each year, community members are encouraged to donate new and gently used children’s books during the book drive. Half Price Books employees then sort through the books to make sure children will receive only quality new and used books. The drive accepts any type of children’s book, including Spanish language books, as long as they are in good condition.

Shortly after the conclusion of the book drive, giveaway events will be held at various Half Price Books locations across the country, and local non-profit groups will be invited to come and pick up boxes books. Last year, more than 14,000 books were distributed in the Bay Area, and more than 340,000 books were distributed nationwide.

“Having books in the home is an important step when it comes to lifelong learning, but unfortunately, this is not the case for many children,” said Kathy Doyle Thomas, executive vice president of Half Price Books. “We are thrilled to celebrate 15 years of Half Pint Library and are so happy to provide books to children in need through this program.”
