Wind and Rain Expected in the Area

Rain expected on throughout the week.

Bay City News —  A wind advisory is in effect for the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The advisory was issued at 4:03 a.m. in response to the strong winds and rain, Officer Ralph Caggiano said. A wind advisory for the Bay Bridge, which was issued at 12:33 a.m., is still in effect and another wind advisory could be issued for the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge later today, Caggiano said.

Temperatures will be cooler than we've enjoyed lately, with highs in the mid 50s and south winds of 20 to 30 mph expected.

Rain is also expected tonight, with lows in the low 50s and south winds of 15 to 20 mph also expected. The rain is expected to continue into Tuesday and may be heavy at times, with highs in the mid 50s and south winds around 20 mph.

The CHP recommends motorists exercise caution while driving and are urging drivers to reduce speed and allow distance between cars on the road.
