Smash Mouth Singer and Guy Fieri Raise Money With "Egg Challenge"

Smash Mouth's Steve Harwell and celebrity chef Guy Fieri raised thousands of dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The rain didn't stop two celebrities from raising $15,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at Hacienda Crossings Monday afternoon.

Steve Harwell of the rock band Smash Mouth was challenged to eat 24 eggs in one sitting by a fan on Twitter. According to a press release issued about the event, the singer responded telling fans to raise over $10,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and he would complete the challenge.

Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri offered to cook up the eggs for Harwell outside of , in Dublin. Mixed with tomatoes, jalepanos, meat, cheese and other ingredients, Fieri presented Harwell with the massive pile of eggs.

Although Harwell needed the help of two fans to complete the challenge, the event was a success. Both celebrities donated to the cause and raised $15,000 for the research hospital.
