Searching for the Perfect Ornament in Dublin

A hunt for a unique ornament took me throughout the Tri-Valley.

I was challenged to go on a quest recently. It was a quest that would take me into three different cities to find the perfect purchase. What was this quest for you ask? To find the perfect ornament for my Bunco group's ornament exchange.

This couldn't just be any ornament mind you, as our host India said it had to be, "Something silly, funny, strange, or risque. Something you may or may not actually hang on your tree."

I began my search in Dublin. I scoured the aisles at , TJ Max, Lowes, , and . Each of these stores offers a wide selection of ornaments and as we get closer to Christmas, some of them are even on sale.

While I saw an abundance of very cute ornaments at each store, nothing seemed weird enough for me.

I had been given a chance to come up with something unique and that is what drove me to check out the only x-rated shop in the Tri-Valley, Not Too Naughty in Livermore. If I was going to get a possibly risque ornament, I wanted to explore all of my options. I went into the store very quickly, asked if they had any Christmas ornaments and was told that they did not. When I was explaining my disappointment about this to my friend Cathy she simply said, "There is no X in Christmas, Stacey."

The next stop on my search brought me to the mall and specifically to Main Street Designs at Stoneridge Mall. This is the store close to the women's Macy downstairs that is full of decorated Christmas trees. I scoured each and every tree in that store.

I found a couple possible contenders. First, there was a small shiny metallic ear of corn on the cob that was covered in glitter.  I also found a very volumptuous cat that was dressed in a cowgirl outfit. My ultimate choice was a little mirror that had the words, "Does this make me look fat?" printed on it.

We had our Bunco night recently and held our ornament exchange. My ornament did get quite a few chuckles, but the hands down winner for best ornament that night would have to be these stuffed little backsides of both Santa and a reindeer.

If you can picture just the rear end and legs, these little guys would play "Deck the Halls" with their flatulence if you gave them a squeeze. Now that is tacky Christmas perfection if you ask me.
