Late Night Work This Week on Interstate 680

Lane closures will be in effect after 8 p.m. this week along the busy freeway starting Monday night.

If you're driving along Interstate 680 at night this week ... heads up.

Caltrans will be closing lanes in the evening and early morning every day this week as crews do some major rehabilitation on the San Ramon Valley freeway.

The first closures will appear Monday and Tuesday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Diablo Road and La Gonda Way in Danville.

Crews will be doing crack and seal work. Some northbound lanes will be closed Monday night and some southbound lanes on Tuesday night.

The crews will also be working at other locations throughout the week.

They'll be paving the northbound lanes between Sycamore Valley Road and El Pintado Road from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. They'll also be there from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday night and 7 p.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday night.

They'll be working similar hours in the northbound lanes between El Pintado Road and Rudgear Road on those evenings and early mornings. Up to three lanes will be closed.

In the southbound lanes, crews will be paving from Rudgear Road to El Pintado from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday as well as 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Friday night and 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday night.

They'll work similar hours in the southbound lanes between El Pintado Road and Sycamore Valley Road. Again, up to three lanes will be closed at a time.

Caltrans officials are asking motorists to be aware of the closures and to give themselves extra time.
