 More than 200 members of the Dublin community gathered Monday night for a vigil and prayer service. 

 The City Council created a new vision for the downtown area Tuesday night by approving a long-debated Downtown Dublin Specific Plan.

The plan replaces five specific plans that had been in place for more than a decade. It was approved on a 5-0 vote after a brief public hearing and designates three zones in the 284-acre region bounded by Amador Valley Boulevard, Interstate 580, San Ramon Road and Village Parkway.

A Dublin resident is helping young people learn how to sew and create clothes in fun classes.

 A 72-year-old Dublin man who went  was found safe and was reunited with his family, according to police. 

 Certified Master Chef Martin Yan, known for his "Yan Can Cook" television show, spoke in front of more than 200 people and demonstrated his cooking skills. 

 Police say two calls were made about a bomb in the T.J. Maxx store. The Alameda County Sheriff's Explosive Ordinance Team and specially trained responded and searched the store, McCarthy said. No explosive devices were found.
