Dublin High's Noria Mitchell Named One of the Athletes of the Year

Bay Area News Group East Bay Prep Athletes of the Year

Noria Mitchell, who plays soccer, track and field for Dublin High School is a natural athlete who works hard to be the best. She has been named, among other amazing young students, one of the Bay Area News Group East Bay Prep Athletes of the Year.

"She chose which sport to play," says Bonnie Reed of Dublin High School. "She is just that amazing."

wrote "the speedy Mitchell, who will remain a Gael at Saint Mary's College, led one of the most improved teams in the section to a DFAL championship and a runner-up finish in the NCS Division II playoffs. She scored 16 of Dublin's 40 goals."

According to Chris Williams of Dublin High, Mitchell is breaking all kinds of records.

"[She] also won her 4th consecutive DFAL title in the 100 meter last Friday at the Diablo Foothill Athletic League Championships, breaking her own school record with a time of 12.26. She also won her 3rd consecutive DFAL title in the 200m, again breaking her own school record with a time of 25.23.

She will representing Dublin High School at the North Coast Section Tri-Valley Championships this Saturday, May 19, 2012 in both of those events as well as running a log on our 4x400 meter relay team. She is currently ranked 5th in all of NCS in the 100 meter and 5th in the 200 meter," he writes.
