BART Seat Lab In Dublin Today

BART will park its mobile seat lab at the Dublin/Pleasanton station from 2 to 6 p.m.

You're invited to take a seat at the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station this afternoon.

BART officials are bringing their mobile seat lab to the station from 2 to 6 p.m. today to get input from passengers on what train seats they should buy.

The seat lab is in the midst of a tour of all nine BART districts.

The transit agency wants input from passengers on how wide, how high and how far apart the seats on trains should be. People also can provide input on what material should be used.

The seats are part of BART's $3.4 billion plan to purchase a fleet of 1,000 cars that will hit the tracks beginning in 2016.

The seat lab will be in Pleasant Hill on Tuesday, in Antioch on Saturday and in South San Francisco and San Francisco next week.
