Pumpkin Patch Picks: Where To Find Your Pumpkin

Looking for a place to find your pumpkin? Here's a breakdown of local farms focused on Halloween fun.

From pumkins and tractor rides to corn mazes and ziplines, there's plenty to do at local pumpkin patches throughout the Bay Area. Here are five to choose from:

PERRY FAMILY PUMPKIN PATCH

Perry Family Pumpkin Patch is a family-owned , certified organic, vegetable farm located at 34600 Ardenwood Blvd. in Fremont. This pumpkin patch gives families a chance to pick their pumpkins and buy the accessories needed to decorate them. tractor rides, a hay pyramid and scare crows are also at the farm, which is open between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through October 31.

MOORES BAY AREA PUMPKIN PATCH

With three East Bay locations, you’re sure to find the right pumpkin from this family’s pumpkin patches. Operating since 1984, the family’s pumpkin patch in Castro Valley  also offers rides and attractions , including a super slide. The three locations are Rowell Ranch Rodeo Park at 9711 Dublin Canyon Rd. in Castro Valley; Alameda County Fairgrounds off Bernal and Valley avenues in Pleasanton; and Forest Home Farms Historic Park, 19953 San Ramon Valley Blvd. in San Ramon. All three locations are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through October 31.

G&M FARMS

Visit this farm’s pumpkin patch on six acres and find your way through a cornfield maze, too.  You can even visit with the farm’s animals and get their faces painted on the weekends. The farm is located off of the Airway Boulevard exit on Interstate 580 in Livermore. Pumpkin patch hours are Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October 31.

 
JOAN'S FARM AND PUMPKIN PATCH

Looking for that Old West town feel while searching for the right pumpkin? Head over to Joan’s Farm and Pumpkin Patch, 4351 Mines Rd. in Livermore. You can go through mazes and go for a hay ride and more. This pumpkin patch is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October 31.


DEL'OSSO FAMILY FARM

You’ll have to go over the hill for this one, but this family farm has a wide array of pumpkins but is known most for its corn mazes. The farm also has obstacle courses for people of all ages, including pony rides for the kids and ziplines for the adults. The farm is located at 501 S. Manthey Rd. in Lathrop. The attraction opens at 10 a.m. daily and entry to the gate closes at 8 p.m. Attractions can begin closing at 9 p.m.
