It'll be a red-hot event celebrated in a cool way.

To support the National Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation, Baskin-Robbins stores in  and across the country are “Scooping Up Thanks” for these men and women during 31-Cent Scoop Night on Wednesday, April 27, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

31-Cent Scoop Night offers ice cream enthusiasts 2.5 ounces ice cream scoops for 31 cents. They can select their flavor but are encouraged to try April's flavor of the month: Firehouse No. 31.

This new ice cream treat is a blend of hot and cold—laced throughout with hot cinnamon and packed with red-hot candy pieces in cold vanilla ice cream.

Baskin-Robbins is hosting this fifth annual event nationwide. The company will also make a $100,000 donation to the foundation to say thanks to the firefighters and help support the families of those that have lost a fallen hero.

For the first time, Baskin-Robbins’ is also offering consumers the chance to help support the foundation as well by making donations via text messaging. Consumers can text 6333 (NFFF) to 50555 to make a $5 donation.

Firefighters from the Alameda County Fire Department plan to visit Baskin-Robbins stores throughout the county, including Dublin.

"We will have crews rotating through, pending emergencies," said Aisha Knowles, public information officer for Alameda County Fire Department.

Firehats and stickers will be distributed and firefighters will be on hand to talk with, she added.
