We need your blood. Patch and the City of Dublin are teaming up in response to the recent critical shortage of blood supplies across the nation and in the Bay Area due to the severe winter weather in the mid-west and the east coast. Read on to see how you can help.

To help meet demand for blood donations and boost supplies, Patch and the City of Dublin are holding an emergency blood drive Sunday, Jan. 18, at the Sunday School Barn at the Heritage Park in Dublin between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dublin Patch Editor Autumn Johnson will be there, too, giving away cool Patch swag. We are giving out t-shirts, coffee mugs, tote bags and more to those who come out to donate.

“Our sincere gratitude goes out to Patch and the City of Dublin for stepping up on short notice to sponsor this blood drive," Jared Schultzman, of the American Red Cross said. "Their generous support is a reflection of their commitment to the community and the health of residents throughout the Bay Area.”

Donors can stop by anytime or can schedule an appointment at www.redcrossblood.org, entering the sponsor code, "DublinCommunity."

The Red Cross asks that donors hydrate and eat a healthy meal before donating. Bring photo identification and plan for an hour for the entire process.
