In Photos: 'splatter' Festival

The festival was held for the second year at Emerald Glen Park in Dublin on Saturday.

The gray sky and sudden deluge that followed on Saturday did not appear to deter those attending the food, art and wine festival at the Emerald Glen Park in Dublin.

The 'splatter' festival, hosted for the second year by the City of Dublin, offered a wide array of activities for people of all ages.

This year the tasting pavilion was larger, swathed in colorful fabric and air conditioned. The tasting experience featured food and wines from restaurants and wineries from around the Tri-Valley. Artists painted giant murals on canvases in the center of the tent as people nibbled noshes, chatted and sipped libations nearby.

Outside of the pavilion, festival-goers enjoyed games and entertainment. Children were treated to giant, opalescent bubbles floating through the air, courtesy of Sterling Johnson, while others gathered to watch "Back Seat Theater," magicians, musicians, and artists. New to the event this year were the gourmet food trucks full of comfort foods joining vendors on the grass.

The sky cleared in time for the free concert and fireworks show to close out the evening.
