Gusty Winds, Possible Thunderstorms Rolling into Bay Area

Weather forecasters say the high winds will affect the entire Bay Area.

Strong winds from the west will affect the entire San Francisco Bay Area tonight and thunderstorms are in store on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Monterey.

The Bay Area tonight should see wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph rising occasionally to as much as 40 mph in mountain regions, the weather service reported.

The North Bay can expect thunderstorms starting on Monday, with the storms spreading throughout the Bay Area on Tuesday and then only in Monterey and San Benito counties on Wednesday.

No warnings or advisories have been issued except for today's statement on gusty westerly winds. The winds could cause small tree branches and debris to fall and lightning from thunderstorms will increase concerns about fire dangers.
