The students of Chinese Christian Schools, San Leandro, couldn’t be more excited after all three teams placed either first or second in their divisions at the Odyssey of the Mind SF Bay Regional Tournament on Saturday, March 1 in Concord.
According to the OM website, OM is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program.
The California State Tournament will take place on April 5 in Brentwood. Depending on the teams’ placements at the state tournament, they may move on to the World Finals 2014 competition as the previous teams have the last two years.
