Edge Gymnastics Level 5 Team -- Nor Cal Level 5 State Championship Meet Results

The Edge Gymnastics Level 5 team competed on Saturday, November 10th and Sunday, November 11th at the Nor Cal Level 5 State Championships in Folsom, CA. This was the final meet of their 2012 competitive season.

Isabel Castillo had the highest all-around score (37.100) of all of the Edge gymnasts at the meet, placing second on vault (9.150), fourth on bars (9.450), fifth on beam (9.100), and third on floor (9.400). She placed fourth all-around in the highly competitive 11C age group.

Lillian Lewis became the State Floor and All-Around Champion for the 7/8 age group, placing third on vault (8.675), second on bars (9.425), third on beam (9.400), and first on floor (9.400). Her all-around score (36.900) was the second highest on the Edge Level 5 team.

In the 11F age group, Carli Collopy placed fourth on bars (9.375), third on beam (8.850), fifth on floor (9.150), and third all-around (36.075).

In the 9E age group, Mei-Ling Wong became the State Floor Champion (9.175), and placed fifth on vault (8.600), sixth on bars (9.025), and third on beam (9.125) and all-around (35.925).

In the 10D age group, Katelyn Lewis placed fifth on bars (9.025), fourth on beam (9.100), and seventh all-around (35.350).

In the 11D age group, Bailey Dodgion placed fourth on bars (9.225), third on floor (9.200), and sixth all-around (35.275). Kacie Donaldson placed sixth on vault (9.000), fifth on beam (8.750), and seventh all-around (35.075).

In the 9F age group, Katie Corbett placed sixth on bars (9.125) and seventh on beam (8.875).

In the 9B age group, Lily Madrigal became the State Bars Champion (9.225), and placed seventh on vault (8.400), sixth on beam (8.650), and sixth all-around (34.925). Ksenia Rokhline placed sixth on bars (8.775) and third on floor (9.050). Emily Walsh placed fourth on floor (8.900).

Caroline Paul became the State Beam Champion (9.200) in the 9C age group, and placed fourth on floor (8.800) and seventh all-around (34.625).

In the 10G age group, Lindsay Mescall placed fifth on floor (9.000).

In the 10F age group, Alexa Naegele placed fourth on beam (9.050).

Actually, Pit Bulls are one of the most well-behaved, well-trained dogs out there, to both theirRead More owners and their familes, if they are trained to be that way. Only drawback to Pits, though, is that they drool a lot, just like any other hunting dog out there. Back in 2009, there was a story in Berkeley about how a Pit Bull saved her owner's life in a house fire, and all anybody could see was that it was a Pit Bull and nothing more. If you train a dog to have a nice and sweet disposition, guess what, the dog will have a nice and sweet disposition. And if you train a dog to fight, maim and kill, guess what it's gonna do? Doesn't matter the breed. I've known Dachshunds who were mean and resorted to biting in an instant as I have known Pit Bulls who were nice--but slobbered a lot. And about the only reason that Pits have the reputation that they do out there is more to do with the viewpoint of the person who believes that all Pits are dangerous to begin with and that perhaps one of their other biases may be a work here, like they hate people whom they believe to be "trash" or "thugs" perhaps, but that's more an indication of their prejudice than their experience with these dogs or any other breed out there. I've known Springer Spaniels out there that started out as sweet dogs with nice dispositions, but as they aged and their brians atrophied into cancer, they turned into vicious dogs and had to be put down. Like people, dogs are individuals, too.
